  Donald A. Brandt has practiced law in northern Michigan since 1979,
specializing in business, banking, retail and commercial collections, and
real estate law. Mr. Brandt received his undergraduate degree, with
distinction, from the University of Michigan business school, and he received
his J.D., magna cum laude, from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Mr.
Brandt sits on the board of directors of several corporations and is general

  Joseph C. Fisher practices in the areas of commercial litigation, domestic
relations, criminal, real estate and business. He received his undergraduate
degree from Michigan State University and earned his J.D. from the Detroit
College of Law. Mr. Fisher is a board member and president of the Traverse
Bay Intermediate School District, a member of the Grand
Traverse-Leelanau-Antrim Bar Association, and serves as chairman of the

  Thomas R. Alward has practiced law in the Traverse City area since 1981,
with a concentration in the areas of commercial transactions, creditor's rights
in bankruptcy, retail and commercial collections, corporate and banking law.
He earned his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University, Masters degree from the American Graduate School of International Management
and his law degree from the University of Toledo. Mr. Alward served on the
Traverse City Area Public Schools Board of Education (President 1995 and
1997), was a Director of the Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce and

Review and served as a legal intern to the late Chief Justice G. Mennen
Williams and as a special assistant prosecutor for Wayne and Grand

Traverse-Leelanau-Antrim Bar Association, and is a member of the State Bar
of Michigan and American Bar Association.

  John M. Grogan has been with the firm since February, 1999. Prior to joining
Brandt, Fisher, Alward, & Roy, P.C., John was with an insurance defense firm
in the Detroit Area.  He received his undergraduate degree in pre-law with an
emphasis in economics from Michigan State University, and earned his law
degree in 1996 from the University of Detroit, where he was a member of the
Constitutional Law National Competition Team. Mr. Grogan's practice
includes all aspects of general civil litigation.

planning and elder law matters. Mr. Modrall is a recognized leader in the area of estate planning, and authors a monthly newsletter for professionals in the
field. He has been certified by the National Elder Law Foundation.  He is a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School and is a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Modrall graduated with highest honors in business administration and engineering from the University of Colorado, and served as an officer in the U.S. Navy. He has been practicing since 1959, and is licensed to practice law in Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan. He is also
admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States.


  Susan Jill Rice practices in the areas of creditor's rights in bankruptcy and
commercial litigation. Mrs. Rice received her undergraduate degree from
Olivet Nazarene University and earned her law degree from Notre Dame Law
School. Mrs. Rice previously served as Career Law Clerk to the Honorable
Robert K. Rodibaugh and the Honorable Harry C. Dees, Jr., of the United
States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Indiana and is licensed to
practice law in Indiana and Michigan.

  Gary D. Popovits received his undergraduate degree in Business
Administration from the University of Michigan-Flint, and he received his J.D.
from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Mr. Popovits practices in the areas of
business, civil litigation, retail and commercial collections, and
landlord-tenant law.

 



 


H. Douglas Shepherd, IV practices in the areas of real estate, banking,
mortgage foreclosure, and business law. Mr. Shepherd received his
undergraduate degree in Economics and Management from Albion College
and earned his law degree from Michigan State University College of Law -
DCL, graduating cum laude .

Laura Garneau practices in the areas of corporate, business,
criminal, and civil litigation. She received her undergraduate
degree in Spanish from Michigan State University where she graduated
with high honor. She earned her law degree from Thomas M.
Cooley Law School, graduating magna cum laude . Ms. Garneau was a
member of the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review and Sixty Plus
Elderlaw Clinic.
  She is currently a member of the GLTA Bar Association Board of Governors.
  David Rowe practiced law in Chicago, Illinois until 2004 when he moved back to Michigan.  He primarily practices in the areas of business, real estate and condominium law.  Mr. Rowe has extensive experience in real estate development and the fractional ownership industry.   Mr. Rowe received his undergraduate degree from Michigan State where he graduated Cum Laude in 1997, and earned his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago where he graduated cum laude in 2001. He is licensed to practice law in Michigan, and the Northern District of Illinois.
Nicole Graf practices law in the areas of collections, construction, business, bankruptcy, and real estate.  She received her undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and her J.D. from the Detroit College of Law at Michigan State where she graduated cum laude in 1996.  Ms. Graf was a member of the Moot Court Board and a speaker for Lorman Educational Services on Collection Law.  She has been practicing law since 1996 and has been admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan and to the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana
  Priscilla Hirt practices in the areas of probate and estate planning, including probate and trust litigation, guardianships, conservatorships, and trust administration.  She received a Bachelor of Business Degree from the University of Michigan with high distinction in 1977.  She earned her Juris Doctor from Wayne State University in 1980. Priscilla has been practicing law in Michigan since 1980.
